Tinubu Wins APC Presidential Primary in Kano Landslide

President Bola Tinubu has emerged victorious with a landslide margin in the presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held in Kano State. The exercise, conducted peacefully across all 44 local government areas, saw Tinubu defeat his only opponent, Mr. Stanley Osifo, to become the party's sole candidate for the 2027 general elections.

Primary Results

After the collation of results, Tinubu polled a total of 500,852 votes, while Osifo, a close aspirant, secured 2,675 votes across the 44 local government areas of the state. The exercise was supervised by the State Collation Officer and Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.

Collation Process

The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Murtala Sule Garo, served as agent for President Tinubu, while Auwal Muhammad Kofa represented Stanley Osifo during the collation process. The collation covered all 44 local government areas, with results recorded and verified at ward and local government levels before final aggregation at the state collation centre.

Governor's Remarks

Declaring the results at Africa House, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf commended APC members in Kano for their peaceful conduct, unity, and discipline during the presidential primary election. He noted that the massive votes recorded for Tinubu reflected the strength of the APC and the confidence party members have in the party's leadership ahead of 2027. The governor also urged party members to remain united and committed to the continued success of the APC in Kano State and across the country.
