The Yobe State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Alhaji Baba Malam Wali, has extended congratulations to numerous aspirants ahead of the 2027 general elections in the state. Wali made the commendation on Wednesday in Damaturu during the APC primary elections conducted across the state, which covered governorship, senatorial, and House of Representatives contests.
Peaceful Primaries Reflect Internal Democracy
The former Secretary to the State Government noted that the successful conduct of the primaries in Yobe and across the country reflects growing internal democracy, unity, and political maturity within the APC. He emphasized that the party in Yobe State has maintained peace, understanding, and mutual respect among its members.
In a statement issued by his Media Campaign Team, Wali congratulated several successful aspirants across various levels of the elections. He specifically praised Governor Mai Mala Buni for emerging as the APC senatorial candidate for Yobe East Senatorial District unopposed.
Other Successful Aspirants
Wali also congratulated Senator Mohammed Ibrahim Bomoi for securing the APC ticket for Yobe South Senatorial District, as well as former Senate President Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, who emerged as the party’s candidate for Yobe North Senatorial District. Additionally, he commended Hon. Nasiru Hassan Yusuf for emerging as APC candidate for Damaturu/Gujba/Gulani/Tarmuwa Federal Constituency.
Others recognized include Alhaji Lawan Shettima (Bursari/Geidam/Yunusari), Hon. Fatsuma Talba (Nangere/Potiskum), Engr. Mohammed Buba Jajere (Fika/Fune), Hon. Hassan Kaikaku Jakduwa (Bade/Jakusko), and Hon. Tijjani Zannah Zakariya (Nguru/Karasuwa/Machina/Yusufari).
Call for Unity and Support
Wali described all the candidates as experienced party loyalists capable of representing their constituencies effectively and contributing to the development of the state. He also commended party leaders, delegates, stakeholders, and supporters for their maturity and peaceful conduct throughout the primary election process.
The APC governorship candidate urged aspirants who were not successful to accept the outcome in good faith and continue to support the party for the collective interest of the state. He stressed that the strength of the APC lies in unity, sacrifice, and loyalty, noting that every aspirant remains an important stakeholder in the party’s future. Wali added that political contests should not create division among members, emphasizing that victory for the APC in the 2027 general elections remains the ultimate goal.
