Meghan's Kids Reunite with King Charles After 4 Years

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's children have reunited with their grandfather, King Charles, for the first time in four years. Buckingham Palace confirmed that King Charles and Queen Camilla hosted Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their two children—Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5—at Highgrove House on Friday, July 10, 2026.

Private Reunion at Highgrove

The reunion took place at the King's private country residence in Gloucestershire, England. Photos of the gathering are not expected to be released to the public. The last time Charles, 77, saw his grandchildren was in 2022 during Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Initially, there was uncertainty over whether Meghan and the children would make the trip due to security concerns. In June, reports indicated that the entire family planned to travel from the United States to England to visit Charles. However, by July, those plans were reportedly scrapped after they were denied taxpayer-funded security.

Security Concerns and Last-Minute Changes

A source told The Guardian at the time: “Their plans to see family, friends and visit various charitable causes close to the duke’s heart have been pulled out from under their feet at the 11th hour.” The insider added that the Duke of Sussex, 41, was “looking at every option to try and get” Markle, 44, and their children to England “safely and keep them safe when they’re on the ground.”

After evaluating the best course of action, Harry traveled to the UK alone earlier that week to promote various charities. He also kicked off the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham. However, by Thursday, Page Six confirmed that Meghan and the children would indeed make the journey to England.

Private Visit and Potential Trip to Diana's Burial Site

Although the family is not making any public appearances together, insiders suggest they hope to visit Princess Diana’s burial site at Althorp Estate in Northamptonshire, England. Harry lost his security privileges in 2020 after he and Meghan stepped down from their royal duties.
