Luxembourg's Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade has published an official list of countries whose citizens can enter the Grand Duchy without a visa in 2026. The document, sighted by Legit.ng on the ministry's official website, reveals that only two African nations are included among more than 50 countries granted visa-free access.
Only Mauritius and Seychelles from Africa
The visa exemption list names Mauritius and Seychelles as the sole African states whose passport holders are permitted to travel to Luxembourg without obtaining prior visa authorisation. Citizens of all other African countries must apply for a visa before entering Luxembourg.
Visa-Free Conditions Vary
The exemption conditions differ depending on the traveller's country of origin and the length of their planned stay. For short stays, visitors from visa-exempt countries can enter for tourism, business, or family visits without a visa for up to 90 days within a 180-day period, in line with Schengen Area rules.

A Schengen visa is a short-stay permit allowing travel across participating countries for up to 90 days within 180 days, eliminating separate visa applications for each destination.
