During that session, Wike asserted that he would face political victimization from opposition leaders, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, if President Tinubu fails to secure a second term in 2027.
Responding to Wike's statements, Oseni questioned why the FCT Minister expressed anxiety over potential retribution if he felt confident in his past political actions. "Why is Mr. Wike afraid today? Why is he afraid that if Atiku Abubakar gets in, he's going to be witch-hunted?" Oseni said. "Is it because he used his high-handedness as governor to ensure that Atiku did not campaign in Rivers State? Mr. Wike, why are you scared? If you are proud of your actions, you should not fear a witch hunt."
Oseni further warned that Wike's loyalty to Tinubu is conditional. "The day he falls out with President Tinubu, this Wike will talk. It is the height of delusion for President Tinubu to think that whatever agreement he has with Wike, if they are no longer together, Wike will not talk," he added.
