A Delta State government official has stepped forward to offer the young graduate who went viral after her encounter with billionaire Tony Elumelu a financial package, an all-expenses-paid trip and a chance to rebuild her public image.

₦500,000 Cash Package and VIP Invitation Announced

Ossai Ovie Success, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, made the announcement via a Facebook post, revealing a package worth ₦500,000 in cash support alongside a complimentary VIP invitation to the fourth edition of the Delta Social Media Summit.

The event is scheduled to hold on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at the Mariam Babangida Leisure Park, opposite Dennis Osadebay University in Asaba, Delta State.

What the Package Covers

The full offer includes round-trip flight tickets to Asaba, five-star hotel accommodation, VIP access to the summit, and a guided tour of developmental projects across Delta State. On top of that, the graduate stands to receive an ambassadorial role with the Delta Social Media Summit.

Ossai made clear that the gesture is not just financial. He said he wants to give the young woman a platform to publicly share her perspective on the incident, describing it as a chance to "turn this pain into purpose." He added that she would be welcomed and "won't be disappointed."

Ossai Appeals to Nigerians to Stop the Trolling

While acknowledging that the graduate made a mistake during her encounter with Elumelu, Ossai called on Nigerians to ease up on the criticism, noting that prolonged social media attacks can have serious mental health consequences.

"I know the internet can be harsh. Depression is real and words cut deep," he wrote. He urged the public to shift from condemnation to compassion: "She made a mistake, but we don't need to torment her daily; she needs our support."
