Kaduna Governor Approves N1bn for Judiciary Workers Arrears

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has approved nearly N1 billion for the payment of outstanding entitlements owed to judiciary workers in the state. The announcement was made during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Kaduna State chapter, led by Chairman Auwalu Sarki, at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House.

Details of the Approved Funds

The approved funds cover two months' salary arrears for April and May 2021, which were inherited from the previous administration. Additionally, the payment includes leave grants for the years 2023, 2024, and 2025, as well as robe and outfit allowances that have been owed to judiciary staff for several years.

Governor's Commitment to Workers' Welfare

Governor Sani emphasized that the approval is part of his administration's efforts to promote fairness, responsibility, and improved welfare for workers, despite the current economic challenges facing many states. He reiterated the critical role judiciary workers play in maintaining justice and strengthening democratic institutions, and assured the union of continued focus on staff welfare, improvement of judicial infrastructure, and stronger cooperation between the executive and judicial arms of government.

Chairman Auwalu Sarki expressed gratitude to the governor for the intervention, noting that it would significantly boost morale and enhance the delivery of justice in the state.
