A youth organization in Bauchi State, the Pate Youth Ambassadors Initiatives (PYI), has commended the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, for facilitating employment opportunities for 2,777 young people across the state. The group described the achievement as a significant milestone in youth empowerment, emphasizing that it reflects a deliberate effort to tackle unemployment and foster inclusive growth.
Press Briefing in Bauchi
Speaking during a press briefing in Bauchi, the Director-General of the group, Prince Mohammed Sani Hassan, stated that the initiative goes beyond job creation. He described it as a strategic step toward strengthening the socio-economic fabric of the state. According to him, the launch of PYI signals the emergence of a structured youth platform designed to mobilize, engage, and inspire young people toward active participation in governance and development.
Organizational Structure
Hassan explained that the organization has already built a wide-reaching structure, with representatives across all 20 local government areas, senatorial districts, wards, and a growing base of volunteers committed to its objectives. He noted that the group draws inspiration from Pate's leadership style, which prioritizes human capital development and service to society.
Political Endorsements
In addition to highlighting the employment initiative, the group also threw its weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, endorsing him for a second term in office. It argued that continuity in leadership is necessary to sustain ongoing reforms and developmental programs. PYI further urged the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to consider Pate as a viable candidate for the Bauchi State governorship in the 2027 elections, citing his experience and capacity to unify diverse interests.
“Just as Nigeria needs continuity at the national level, Bauchi State requires transformational leadership at the state level,” the group stated. The organization reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful political engagement and called on youths and other stakeholders to support efforts aimed at fostering unity, democratic participation, and sustainable development in Bauchi State.
