Bauchi Governor Salutes Christians' Resilience at Christmas

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has publicly lauded the Christian community within the state for their steadfast resilience, love, and commitment to unity. He made these commendations in the face of what he described as divisive and misleading narratives that threaten societal harmony.

Christmas Call for Unity and Reflection

The governor's goodwill message was delivered on Thursday, December 25, 2025, to mark the Christmas celebrations. The statement was signed and released by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mukhtar Gidado.

In the message, Governor Mohammed emphasized that Christmas, marking the birth of Jesus Christ, serves as a potent reminder of core virtues. He listed these as faith, peace, honesty, mutual love, and the fear of God.

He urged all residents of Bauchi to embrace these values deeply. This appeal was made irrespective of individuals' religious beliefs, ethnic backgrounds, or political affiliations. The goal, he stated, is to foster a lasting environment of peaceful coexistence across the state.

"The Christmas season provides an opportunity for reflection, prayer, and renewal," the Governor advised. He encouraged citizens to use the period to reflect on their deeds, seek divine forgiveness, and strengthen the bonds of love, respect, and forgiveness among themselves.

Commitment to Security and Inclusive Governance

Governor Mohammed placed a strong emphasis on the need for collective responsibility in community building and the overall development of Bauchi State. He encouraged the tradition of exchanging visits and sharing gifts, extending this spirit of harmony to adherents of all faiths.

He reiterated his administration's dedication to inclusive governance, justice, and fairness. The Governor specifically appreciated the understanding and resilience shown by the Christian community. He noted that their unity stands as a strong pillar against intolerance and falsehood.

On security, the Governor stated that protecting lives and property remains a top priority. He reported that sustained collaboration with various security agencies has been instrumental in addressing security challenges throughout Bauchi. He called for continued public support and cooperation with security operatives to maintain peace.

Economic Pledges and Addressing Hardship

Looking at the state's economy, Governor Mohammed pledged his administration's unwavering commitment to fostering growth. He pointed to the successful outcomes of the State's Economic and Investment Summit as a key achievement.

The summit, he revealed, attracted investment commitments running into billions of dollars and naira. This success is strategically positioning Bauchi State as a preferred destination for investors.

The Governor acknowledged the prevailing economic difficulties facing citizens. He reiterated the state government's ongoing efforts to alleviate hardship through various palliative measures. While making these efforts, he appealed for patience and understanding from the public as the government works to improve living conditions.

Governor Mohammed concluded by appreciating the continued support of the Bauchi people since the inception of his administration in 2019. He assured them of more developmental programmes before the conclusion of his tenure in 2027.
