Women of Rubies has marked another significant milestone with the successful completion of the fifth edition of its Media Visibility Bootcamp. This transformative two-day capacity-building program concluded recently, having equipped numerous women with essential tools to amplify their voices and enhance their leadership influence.
Leadership and Visibility Take Center Stage
The 2025 edition, themed "From Visibility to Leadership: Turning Influence into Impact," brought together industry experts, thought leaders, and purpose-driven women from across the globe. The event featured intensive learning sessions focusing on storytelling, visibility strategy, leadership communication, and personal branding.
The program commenced with an inspiring keynote address from The Honourable Rechie Valdez, Canada's Minister of Women and Gender Equality and Secretary of State for Small Business and Tourism. Minister Valdez praised Women of Rubies for creating a platform that supports women and strengthens their leadership capacity.
In her powerful message, the Minister emphasized that programs like the Media Visibility Bootcamp remain essential for empowering women to speak confidently, shape their narratives, and access opportunities that foster long-term success. She stressed that leadership represents not only an individual pursuit but a collective responsibility, adding that "we must continue to build a world where every woman can thrive, be seen, and be heard."
Expert-Led Sessions and Transformative Discussions
The first day featured presentations from distinguished communication and leadership experts including Andrea Carter, Chinwe Bode-Akinwande, and Tope Mark-Odigie. A thought-provoking panel session followed with Urmi Hossain and Tobore Anne Emorhokpor, exploring crucial topics such as:
- Personal storytelling techniques
- Building emotional resilience
- Overcoming visibility fears
- Claiming space in leadership and media
Day two continued with high-impact sessions led by Sola Oduwole, Adejisola Adetiba (Lady ABHA), and Nifemi Fagbohun. The final panel brought together Omoshalewa Onayemi, Faith Oloruntoba, and Jessica Campbell, who examined visibility through the lenses of technology, global influence, and personal credibility.
Throughout the sessions, speakers consistently encouraged participants to show up with intention, embrace their uniqueness, and use visibility as a strategic tool for expanding influence and unlocking new opportunities.
Powerful Testimonials and Lasting Impact
Speaker Faith Oloruntoba described the Bootcamp as "an incredibly impactful experience," highlighting the depth of engagement, vulnerability, and shared stories among participants. She noted that the Women of Rubies team curated a meaningful, high-quality experience that not only empowers women to show up confidently but also reminds speakers why their voices matter.
Esther Ijewere, Founder of Women of Rubies and convener of the Bootcamp, reflected on the significance of this year's cohort. She explained that this edition reinforced the truth that visibility extends beyond mere exposure to encompass purpose-driven leadership, courage, and service.
According to Ijewere, "This cohort reminded us that visibility is not about spotlight—it is about impact. The women who joined us showed extraordinary bravery, intentionality, and hunger to grow. Our mission remains to help women tell their stories boldly, lead confidently, and build platforms that will outlive us."
