Troops of Sector 2 of the Nigerian Army have neutralized two popular bandit kingpins, identified as Gomina and Anaruwa, along with seven other terrorists during multiple operations conducted over the past three days in Katsina and Zamfara states.

The confirmation came in a statement by Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, acting deputy director of Army Public Relations for the 8 Division, Army/Sector 2 Operation Fansan Yamma. He explained that troops from the Forward Operating Base in the Bagege area of Zamfara state carried out a high-risk operation in Anka Local Government Area. This led to the elimination of seven terrorists, including the two notorious kingpins. According to reports, Anaruwa was the younger brother of a well-known terrorist commander, Kachalla Idi Aiki. The troops engaged the terrorists in a fierce firefight along the Bagega-Anka Road during the first operation.
