Armed bandits in Gora community, Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State, have killed six farmers and kidnapped some residents, with several others sustaining various degrees of injuries. However, troops of Joint Task Force Operation Fansan Yamma, Sector 2, in collaboration with local security outfits, responded to the bandit attack on Gora community. Reliable sources explained that military troops deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Faru received information on June 12, 2026, that terrorists were attacking community members in their farmlands at Gora village. As distress calls were received, the troops immediately mobilized to the scene in collaboration with local vigilante groups. But the bandits had fled into the forest before the arrival of the troops, the sources added.

Casualties and Abductions

It was gathered that six farmers were killed during the attack, while 10 others sustained various degrees of injuries. It was also gathered that some residents of the area were reportedly abducted by the bandits, although authorities said the exact figure is yet to be confirmed.
