Unknown gunmen have abducted a medical worker and his wife in an attack on Iluke, a major settlement in the Bunu district of Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area, Kogi State, in the early hours of today, May 22.
According to reports, the gunmen stormed the town at about 1 a.m. and whisked away a community health worker popularly called ‘Dr. Ebi’ (omo Kemuna) and his wife. The assailants allegedly carried the abductees on motorcycles. Once the victim, who owned a clinic, was in their custody, the hoodlums sporadically released bullets as they escaped from the town. This development has thrown the community into fresh fear.
The Kogi State Police Command is yet to comment on this development.
