Gunmen have abducted an unspecified number of students from Government Day Secondary School, Lassa, in Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State, while they were taking the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE). The attack occurred on Monday morning during an examination organized by the National Examinations Council (NECO), causing widespread panic among students and staff.

Teacher Killed, Students Missing After Attack

According to reports, a teacher was killed during the assault, and another sustained injuries. The Borno State Police Command confirmed that several students remain unaccounted for following the incident. Police spokesperson Nahum Daso stated that security agencies are responding and working to determine the exact number of abducted students.

The abduction has heightened fears about the safety of students and educational institutions in the region, which has long faced security challenges from insurgency and criminal activities.
