NYSC Extends Service of 12 Corps Members in Osun

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Osun State has announced the extension of the service year for 12 corps members from the 2025 Batch A Stream 11 due to various offences committed during their service period.

Disclosure by NYSC Spokesperson

Mrs. Catherine Otemuyiwa, the scheme's spokesperson, revealed this in a statement made available to journalists on Thursday in Osogbo. She detailed that the decisions were taken in line with the NYSC Bye-Laws.

Coordinator's Remarks

The NYSC Osun Coordinator, Mr. Ekeng Kubiangha, stated that a total of 2,132 corps members successfully completed the mandatory one-year national service and were issued Certificates of National Service. He further disclosed that 27 corps members were declared absconders according to NYSC regulations, while 12 others had their service extended for various offences and acts of indiscipline.

Mr. Kubiangha congratulated the outgoing corps members on their successful completion of the service year and urged them to safeguard their Certificates of National Service and uphold the integrity of the scheme. He cautioned corps members against engaging in partisan political activities or making statements that could expose them to danger, particularly with the forthcoming elections in the state. He emphasized the importance of remaining security-conscious, law-abiding, and focused on self-development and economic independence.

During the event, Kubiangha presented certificates to eligible corps members and awarded Certificates of Commendation to outstanding Corps Liaison Officers for their exemplary service.
