On Saturday, the Kanam Development Association raised an alarm over an attack by bandits on security personnel, including vigilantes, within the council area. According to the association, the security agents, who were part of a patrol team, were ambushed in the Garga area. Meanwhile, a resident of Garga Community, Musa Yusuf, who traveled to Jos to provide firsthand information, confirmed to The Guardian that the number of casualties has increased to 26. Yusuf stated, "It is now 26. I am confirming it to you now. One of the vigilantes, who died on Sunday, is my brother's son. I saw the six who died, including two soldiers." This update underscores the gravity of the attack and the personal toll it has taken on families in the area.
