Police Arrest Suspect in Adamawa Triple Kidnapping

The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a suspected kidnapper linked to the abduction of three individuals in Hullere Gwalamba, Yola North Local Government Area. The suspect, identified as Alhaji Adamu Yahaya, a resident of Hosere Jambutu in Yola North, was taken into custody following an intelligence-driven operation.

Incident Report and Investigation

Police spokesperson Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje disclosed in a statement on Thursday that the case was reported to the State Intelligence Department on June 16, 2026, by Samaila Musa of Hullere Gwalamba. The victims—Adamu Samaila Sultan (24), Bilal Abdurrahman (8), and Ya'u Sani Baba Iyali (10)—were kidnapped on June 12 and taken to an undisclosed location. The kidnappers later contacted the family and demanded a ransom.

Commissioner of Police Kabir Umar Hassan ordered a discreet investigation and directed operatives to deploy intelligence and technical resources to track down the perpetrators. The operation led to the arrest of Yahaya, who is currently providing information to help identify and capture other members of the kidnapping syndicate.

The command stated that investigations are ongoing, and the suspect will be prosecuted upon conclusion. Police assured the public that updates will be provided as efforts continue to rescue the victims and bring all involved to justice.
