Details of the Incident
The incident unfolded on March 7, 2026, at approximately 7:30 p.m. in the Une Tongov community, located within the Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State. Armed bandits, who are reportedly loyal to a local kingpin known as "Chen", forcibly abducted the traditional ruler, Zaki Sughter Agenbeer, from his residence.

The corpse of the slain traditional ruler was recovered from the scene and has been deposited at the Zaki-Biam Hospital mortuary for further examination and necessary procedures.
Ongoing Security Measures
Security operatives have commenced a comprehensive combing operation in the nearby bushes to track down other fleeing suspects. This effort aims to ensure that all individuals involved in this heinous crime are apprehended and brought to justice.
The Benue State Police Command has reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order, particularly in regions affected by banditry and communal conflicts. Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest security outpost.
