Troops of Sector 2 Mobile Intervention Battalion (MIB), in collaboration with local hunters, have arrested a suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP informant in Damaturu Local Government Area of Yobe State.

Details of the Arrest

The suspect, identified as Alhaji Ibrahim, aged 42, was apprehended at approximately 3:05 p.m. on May 25, 2026. His arrest followed intelligence reports indicating his alleged communication and activities with terrorist elements.

The suspect is a vigilante attached to Government Girls Unity College (GGUC) in Damaturu. He hails from Ahajiri village in Maisandari Ward of Damaturu Local Government Area.

Military Statement

Military sources commented on the arrest, stating, “Sometimes, the greatest threat to a community comes not from outsiders, but from insiders who betray their people by collaborating with terrorists and exposing innocent lives to danger.”

The suspect is currently in the custody of Sector 2 for further investigation.
