Two members of the same family have been killed in a midnight attack on Kogot village in Vwang (Vom) District, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State. The incident occurred at about 11:00 pm on Monday, May 11, 2026.
Victims Identified
The Publicity Secretary of the Berom Youths Moulder Association, Rwang Tengwong, disclosed this in a statement issued in Jos on Tuesday. He identified the victims as Ngo Shettu Badung, 78, and Mr. Danjuma Badung, 52. Both were family members of the association's chairman in Vom district.
“Terrorist gangs operating under the guise of Fulani militancy have, again, struck Kogot village of Vwang (Vom) District in Jos South LGA, Plateau State last night at about 11:00pm, 11th May, 2026 and killed two people in a family of the Chairman of Berom Youths Moulder Association of the District,” the statement read.
Details of the Attack
According to local sources, the deceased were Ngo Shettu Badung, 78 years old, and Mr. Danjuma Badung, 52 years old. Tengwong noted that the latest attack occurred after the military arrested and detained eight local guards from Vwang at Danwal in Ganawuri chiefdom.
The incident has heightened tensions in the area, with community leaders calling for enhanced security measures to protect residents from further attacks.
