Jamaica's 2026 Visa-Free Entry List for 16 African Countries
16 African Countries Qualify for Jamaica Visa-Free Entry in 2026

Jamaica's Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency has published its official list of visa entry requirements for foreign nationals, confirming that citizens from 16 African countries can enter the Caribbean island without a visa in 2026. The list, released on the agency's website, primarily includes Commonwealth member states, with a few exceptions.

African Countries Eligible for Visa-Free Entry to Jamaica

The following African nations qualify for visa-free travel to Jamaica: Ghana, Kenya, Eswatini, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Namibia, Mozambique, Lesotho, Botswana, Sierra Leone, Gambia, Seychelles, and Mauritius. According to the agency, most Commonwealth nationals can enter without any specified time restriction beyond standard tourism rules. However, travellers from some nations face limits of 30 or 90 days and may need to show proof of vaccination or hold a valid visa from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, or the Schengen Area as a prerequisite.

African Countries That Still Require a Jamaica Visa

Despite being a Commonwealth member, Nigeria is not on the visa-free list and requires a visa to enter Jamaica. Other African nations that need a visa include Algeria, Angola, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, Comoros, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Somalia, both North and South Sudan, Togo, Tunisia, and Zimbabwe. For travellers from some of these countries, Jamaica permits visas to be obtained at the port of entry, though this applies to a limited number of nations and does not extend to most African passport holders.
