Delta Father Arrested After Defiling Three Daughters for Years
54-year-old man defiles three daughters in Delta

The Delta State Police Command has made a shocking arrest of a 54-year-old man who allegedly sexually abused his three biological daughters for several years in the Ugborikoko area of the state.

School Outreach Program Leads to Exposure

According to police spokesperson SP Bright Edafe, the breakthrough in the case came during a school outreach program organized by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the area. The DPO had visited a local school to educate students about their rights and encourage them to report any form of sexual harassment or abuse they might be experiencing.

During the outreach program, the DPO specifically informed students that they could confidently report anyone who was sexually harassing or defiling them, emphasizing the importance of speaking out against such crimes.

Daughter's Courageous Revelation

The police spokesperson revealed that after the program, a 13-year-old student became visibly distressed. Her emotional state continued for days until a concerned friend approached her to inquire about the reason for her persistent crying since the DPO's visit.

This inquiry prompted the young girl to finally open up about the horrific abuse she had been suffering at the hands of her own father. The victim confessed that her father had been sexually abusing her since she was a small child.

In a surprising twist, the friend who had inquired about her distress revealed that she too had been a victim of the same man. The friend disclosed that the father had sexually assaulted her during a visit to their home, which was why she had stopped visiting the house altogether.

Shocking Scale of Abuse Revealed

Further investigation uncovered that the 54-year-old suspect had been systematically abusing not just one, but all three of his daughters. The eldest daughter, now 24 years old, revealed that her father had been sexually abusing her since she was just 12 years old and in primary six.

When questioned about why she never reported the abuse, the eldest daughter explained that she felt too ashamed and considered the act an abomination that she couldn't bring herself to disclose.

During police interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crimes, admitting that he had been sexually abusing his daughters for approximately seven years. When investigators pressed him for his motivation, the man simply attributed his actions to "devil's work".

The suspect expressed remorse, telling police that he always felt sad after committing the crimes against his own children.

Police authorities have commended the courage of the young victim who came forward after the school outreach program, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in protecting vulnerable children from sexual predators, even within their own families.
