Former Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has asserted that individuals who pressure security agencies to release or pardon a criminal are themselves complicit in criminality.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Adejobi emphasized the need for unwavering resolve in the fight against crime. He stated, "I always maintain my stance and principles when it comes to fighting crimes and criminality. Do not even bother to contact me, pleading for a criminal. It is shameful, and it will not work out well."
Collective Responsibility in Crime Prevention
Adejobi further elaborated that anyone who begs or mounts pressure on the police and other security agencies to release, pardon, or overlook a crime is equally a criminal. "No two ways about it. Check yourself. We need to stand firm, remain resolute in curbing crimes and vices in our society, collectively," he wrote.
His comments have sparked discussions on social media, with many supporting his stance while others argue for compassion in certain cases. The former police image maker, however, remains adamant that compromising on justice undermines efforts to maintain law and order.
