Aid worker slams Nigerians filming child accused of being witch

Danish aid worker Anja Ringgren Lovén, known for rescuing dozens of children branded as witches in Akwa Ibom State, has reacted furiously to a viral video showing a malnourished child accused of being a witch. In the video, adults are seen filming the child instead of offering help.

Child in Distress

The video, circulating widely online, depicts a child in a visibly disturbing condition, appearing severely malnourished and neglected. Accompanying claims allege that "the child witch with an adult face, who disguised as a bird, fell from a tree."

Lovén's Response

Reacting to the footage, Lovén slammed the adults for not assisting the clearly suffering child. She reiterated her stance that children are not witches. "I have saved this video as evidence for everyone standing around not helping an innocent child in desperate need for help! Each and every one of you are guilty! I will make sure your faces are shared around the world! This is NOT a witch! This is an innocent CHILD! A HUMAN BEING!" she wrote.
