Students at a tertiary institution in Anambra State gathered to watch as a biology lecturer, who allegedly attempted to have sex with a female student in a laboratory, was arrested by the police. The incident, which occurred on campus, has sparked outrage among the student body.
Allegations of harassment and a trap set by students
According to students, the lecturer had been persistently disturbing a female student for sex. In response, the student, with the help of others, allegedly set a trap for him. When the student entered the office, she raised an alarm after the lecturer had reportedly taken off his clothes.
Lecturer locked in lab, students break down door
The lecturer, seen in just his underwear, locked the lab door as students tried to apprehend him. However, one student broke down the door, and the lecturer is seen running away from the door after students gained entrance. He escaped from the lab by climbing out of a window before being caught.
A video of the arrest shows the lecturer being held by students and later handed over to the police. The incident has been widely shared on social media, with many calling for justice. The police have confirmed the arrest and stated that an investigation is ongoing.
