Babysitter Arrested After Disturbing Bathroom Video Discovered

A 25-year-old New Jersey woman has been arrested and charged with multiple child sexual abuse offenses after a former roommate discovered a 14-second Snapchat video depicting the alleged assault of a young boy. Victoria Anne Cranmer, of Little Egg Harbor, was taken into custody on July 7 and is being held at Ocean County Jail.

According to court documents obtained by local news outlet Patch, the video was recorded on May 6. Cranmer used a mobile phone that had been gifted to her by her former roommate, identified in court records as “Ms. P.” The roommate discovered the footage after Cranmer was evicted from the home and returned the device.

Details of the Video and Investigation

The affidavit alleges that the 14-second clip shows Cranmer laughing while “acting inappropriately” with the child in the bathroom. Police identified Cranmer through distinct tattoos — including one on her leg depicting “boobs” — her voice, and the fact that the video was recorded in her own bathroom.

After viewing the video, Ms. P “freaked out,” saved the footage to her phone, and locked Cranmer out of the Snapchat account. The roommate later told authorities that Cranmer often babysat her daughter, as well as the young son of a woman named “Ms. H.”

Mother Noticed Behavioral Changes in Son

Ms. H, the mother of the victim, told police that her son had begun acting strangely and developed a dislike for bathtubs after spending time with Cranmer. Court documents revealed that the mother later learned Cranmer would bathe with the boy. Although authorities initially stated the child was under 13, the filing refers to him as still in diapers, indicating his very young age.

A forensic search of the phone reportedly uncovered additional videos of Cranmer and the child in the bathroom. At least one of these videos was posted to Snapchat by Cranmer.

Charges Filed by Authorities

State and local authorities were alerted to the allegations, and detectives from the Little Egg Harbor Police Department seized the phone on May 28. Cranmer was arrested on July 7 and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, manufacturing child sexual abuse material, and possession of child sexual abuse material.

The case has sent shockwaves through the community. Authorities have not released further details about the victim’s current condition or the ongoing investigation.
