Arrest and Discovery

According to the police, Alale was apprehended after being found with a broken white plate containing what appears to be human parts. The suspect reportedly claimed during interrogation that he discovered the items at the Sagbama Council Secretariat Junction, Mile Three, and was attempting to dispose of them in a nearby bush when he was caught.

The police statement read: "The attention of the Bayelsa State Police Command has been drawn to a publication making the rounds on social media with the caption 'Ritualist Caught with Fresh Human Heart.' Preliminary investigation reveals that the suspect, one Peter Alale 'm', 40 years, from Agbere Community, Sagbama LGA, Bayelsa State, has been arrested and was found in possession of a broken white plate containing suspected human parts."

"Upon interrogation, the suspect claimed to have found the suspected human parts at Sagbama Council Secretariat Junction, Mile 3, Sagbama and was attempting to dispose them in a nearby bush before he was arrested. Furthermore, the exhibits have been recovered for medical examination and analysis to ascertain whether they are human parts."
