The Bayelsa State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of Ibobuminaten Oweifa, son of a traditional ruler, for allegedly setting a young man, Godgift Biko, on fire over accusations of theft. The incident occurred in Okodi Community, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

According to police reports, Oweifa accused Biko of stealing wood and subsequently tied him up before pouring fuel on him and setting him ablaze. A viral video shows the victim begging for mercy as Oweifa emptied a bottle of fuel on him and ignited the fire.
