The family of Ifeanyi Omeje has announced burial arrangements for the Nigerian man who was found dead in an apartment in Indonesia alongside his roommate. The two men were discovered unconscious in Cengkareng, West Jakarta, on June 1, 2026, after consuming a meal, with a third companion also unconscious but later revived.
Incident Details
According to reports, the bodies of Ifeanyi Omeje and his roommate, identified by police as CD (27) and II (34), were found on the 3rd floor of the City Park Tower F Apartment in Cengkareng Timur at around 21:00. A third individual, OSO (39), was found unconscious but survived and is currently receiving hospital treatment.
Police Investigation
The Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, stated that the police are still investigating the exact cause of death. Initial examinations revealed no signs of violence on the victims' bodies. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the deaths were due to food poisoning or other factors.
Burial Arrangements
Ifeanyi Omeje's remains are scheduled to depart Indonesia on Sunday, June 28, and arrive at Enugu Airport on June 29. He will be laid to rest the same day in his hometown of Umuogbo-Ulo, Enugu-Ezike, in Enugu State. The family has asked for privacy during this difficult time.
