The family of late Nigerian diplomat Demola Seriki is embroiled in a fresh controversy after his third wife, Mrs. Sholape Seriki, publicly accused her co-wife, Alhaja Wosilat Okoya Seriki, of attempting to take control of his estate. In an emotional video, Sholape alleged that despite initially deciding to remain silent, she was forced to speak out after receiving a court summons from Wosilat over the ownership of one of the late diplomat's vehicles.
Allegations of will disregard
Sholape claimed that Wosilat has been disregarding Demola Seriki's wishes, withholding properties and assets meant for her children, and trying to take possession of the entire estate. She further alleged that documents relating to some of the properties and vehicles had been altered after her husband's death. Sholape insisted she has evidence to support her claims and called on her late husband to 'judge the matter spiritually,' while maintaining that the inheritance rightfully belongs to all of his children.
Court summons and public outcry
The dispute escalated when Sholape received a court summons from Wosilat concerning a vehicle, prompting her to make the allegations public. She expressed frustration that her silence was being taken for granted and vowed to fight for her children's rights. The video has sparked reactions online, with many calling for a fair resolution of the estate matter.
According to sources close to the family, the late Demola Seriki was a respected diplomat who served Nigeria in various capacities. His death has left behind a complex family structure, with multiple wives and children. The legal battle over his estate is expected to unfold in the coming weeks.
