Security Forces Nab Notorious Arms Manufacturer in Plateau
The Department of State Services (DSS) has achieved a significant breakthrough in its fight against insecurity in northern Nigeria with the arrest of a suspected major arms supplier. Musa Abubakar, believed to be a key provider of weapons to armed groups operating in Plateau State and other northern regions, was apprehended in a carefully planned operation.
Intelligence-Led Operation in Bassa LGA
The dramatic arrest took place on November 12, 2025, following precise intelligence gathering by DSS operatives. Acting on credible information about the suspect's activities, security forces conducted a targeted raid on an arms manufacturing workshop located in the Mista Ali area of Bassa Local Government Area.
According to a DSS source who spoke on the operation, "Abubakar was apprehended red-handed with various Improvised Explosive Device (IED) components, chemicals, and equipment, which have all been confiscated by DSS operatives". The suspect reportedly confessed to manufacturing and distributing high-caliber weapons and ammunition to armed groups responsible for violent attacks across Plateau State and other northern regions.
Connection to Recent Security Developments
This major arrest comes at a crucial time in Nigeria's security landscape, occurring shortly after the recapture of Abdulazeez Obadaki, also known as Bomboy. The notorious Kuje Prison escapee had masterminded several high-profile attacks, including those on banks and the Deeperlife church.
