Suspected armed robbers have shot and killed Mr. Christopher Igwe, the younger brother of Honorable Uchenna Igwe, who serves as the Ebonyi State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters. Police Confirm Deadly Attack Details
The Ebonyi State Police Command spokesperson, SP Joshua Ukandu, officially confirmed the heartbreaking incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). According to police reports, the violent attack occurred around 10pm on Monday night, November 17, along the Ishieke axis in Ebonyi Local Government Area.
SP Ukandu provided disturbing details about the sequence of events. "The armed robbers, after an operation at a cooking gas selling store, began to shoot and, unfortunately, the brother to the commissioner was shot dead," he explained. The random shooting following the robbery operation resulted in the tragic and untimely death of Christopher Igwe.

In response to this brutal crime, the Ebonyi State Police Command has immediately launched a comprehensive investigation. Law enforcement officers are actively working to track down and apprehend the suspects responsible for this heinous act.
