Edo Police Arrest Homosexual for Sexual Exploitation

The Edo State Police Command has apprehended a 32-year-old man, Francis Duwa, on charges of sexual exploitation and distribution of explicit material. The arrest took place in Benin City, where officers also rescued two victims, one male and one female, from the suspect's residence.

Arrest Details

ASP Eno Ikoedem, the command's spokesperson, confirmed the arrest during an interview with journalists. She stated that the suspect allegedly engaged in sexual assault against male victims and recorded explicit content without their consent.

Distress Call Leads to Arrest

According to the Public Relations Officer, the arrest followed a distress call from concerned residents who reported suspicious activities at the suspect's apartment. The suspect is accused of luring victims to his home under false pretenses, exploiting them sexually, and recording the acts without permission.

Ikoedem further alleged that Duwa conspired with others to circulate the explicit materials for financial gain. Items recovered from the scene included adult toys and other evidence.

Police Statement

“The victims were rescued and exhibits recovered from the scene,” she said. The police spokesperson urged young people to pursue legitimate means of livelihood and avoid engaging in criminal activities.

The investigation is ongoing, and the suspect will be charged in court upon completion of inquiries.
