The Edo State Security Corps has apprehended two suspects believed to be responsible for a robbery at Aimas hair shop in the GRA area of Benin City, Edo State. The arrests follow a report by the store owner and were aided by CCTV footage that captured the incident.

The robbery occurred at Aimas hair shop, located in GRA, Benin City. The store owner reported the incident to the Edo State Security Corps, which then linked the suspects to the crime. CCTV footage shows the male suspect holding a gun and threatening sales personnel before locking them in an inner room. Meanwhile, the female suspect grabbed about 90 hairs worth millions of Naira from mannequins and stuffed them into a bag.
The suspects operated using a mini-bus painted in the state-approved colours, which likely helped them blend in during the operation. Upon their arrest, the security corps recovered 35 bundles of human hair from the suspects.
Arrest and Recovery of Stolen Items
The business owner expressed gratitude to the security corps for their quick intervention. She explained that three suspects were involved—two men and one woman—and hoped that the third suspect would be nabbed. While the driver and the female suspect have been apprehended, the male suspect is still on the run.
Speaking while being paraded, the male suspect claimed he is just a driver who took the culprits to the destination after they sought his service. This claim has not been independently verified, but the security corps has proceeded with the case.
Handover to Police and Next Steps
The suspects, along with the recovered items, have been handed over to the Intelligence Rapid Response Team of the Nigerian police, as disclosed by the Edo State Security Corps. This transfer indicates that the case is now under police investigation, with efforts likely focused on apprehending the remaining suspect.
