Mexican security forces have arrested a nephew of imprisoned drug kingpin Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman during an operation in northern Mexico, officials confirmed on Tuesday, May 26.

The suspect, identified only as Isai 'N' in accordance with Mexican legal practices, was detained in the state of Sonora near the United States border. Omar Garcia Harfuch, one of Mexico's top security officials, announced the arrest in a statement shared on X, noting that the suspect is also wanted by authorities in the United States.
