Former NFL wide receiver Stedman Bailey was arrested in Florida after police alleged that he and a woman engaged in sexual activity inside an arcade at a shopping mall. The incident occurred at Round1 inside Pembroke Lakes Mall in Pembroke Pines, according to an arrest report from the Pembroke Pines Police Department.
Details of the Incident
Police say Bailey and Karina Manderson were drinking at the arcade shortly before midnight on July 26 when the pair allegedly began having sex at the bar. Surveillance footage reportedly showed Manderson bent over the bar with Bailey behind her. A witness told officers she saw the pair having intercourse and instructed them to stop.
According to the report, Bailey then pulled up his pants and the two walked away. Officers said Bailey later acknowledged that both of them had their pants down and that he was exposed, but denied that penetration occurred. Bailey reportedly told police that he and Manderson had each consumed about two or three shots and attributed his behavior to being intoxicated.
Statements from Those Involved
Manderson told officers she could not remember what happened. She acknowledged drinking too much and reportedly said that even one shot of tequila was enough to make her intoxicated. Police said they found no evidence that either person's drinks had been tampered with.
Bailey was ultimately booked on a misdemeanor charge of exposure of sexual organs.
Bailey's NFL Career
Before his arrest, Bailey spent three seasons with the St. Louis Rams from 2013 to 2015 after a successful college career at West Virginia. His NFL career ended following a 2015 shooting in Miami Gardens that left him with life-threatening injuries.
