Farmer arrested for killing Fulani herder in Kaduna clash

Troops of Sector 7, Sub-Sector 71, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have arrested a 33-year-old farmer, Danjuma Luka, following an altercation that led to the death of a Fulani boy in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Incident Details

The incident occurred at about 6:10 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, in Ninzo South Ward. Troops deployed at Raga General Area responded to a distress report concerning the altercation, according to security analyst Zagazola Makama.

Upon arrival at the scene, the troops arrested the farmer identified as Danjuma Luka, 33. The circumstances surrounding the altercation and the death of the Fulani boy are currently being investigated.

Military Custody and Next Steps

The suspect is currently in military custody and is expected to be handed over to Keystone for further necessary action. Security personnel have maintained a presence in the area to prevent possible reprisal attacks and preserve peace between the farming and herding communities.
