Do you know what happened in Apo on the night of June 7th? On that night in 2005 and in the early hours of June 8th, life changed forever for six families in Apo, Abuja. Five men and one woman, all between the ages of 21 and 25, were shot dead by police officers. They were then tagged as armed robbers, with weapons planted on them to justify their killings.

A film inspired by their tragic story, titled The Night of June 7th, will be released this June. The film stars Femi Branch, Ali Nuhu, Gideon Okeke, and Charles Lenny. It is written and produced by Linda Ikeji and directed by Toka Mcbaror.
