The case was formally reported to the Monguno Division of the police at about 6:20 p.m. by Maidugu Mustapha, a resident of Gana Ali Ward. According to the report, the suspect, identified as Mohammed Ibrahim Angoli, who serves as a Forest Guard member, fatally shot his 24-year-old son, Ajiya Mustapha, in the back using an AK-47 rifle.
