Residents in the area confirmed that emergency responders and security agencies had moved to the scene shortly after the incident. One resident told The Nation: "As I speak with you, efforts is currently being intensified to locate possible survivors and ascertain the extent of casualties."
The Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base (FOB) has also deployed personnel to support the ongoing rescue operation in Ilaje. Jimoh Abayomi, spokesman for the Ondo State Police Command, confirmed the crash when contacted but said he would provide further details in due course.
