Brutal Attack on Farmer Sends Shockwaves Through Nasarawa Community
A horrific attack by suspected Fulani herdsmen has left a woman with a severed hand in the Barki Abdullahi community, located within the Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The violent incident occurred on Saturday, November 15, 2025, while the victim was carrying out her work on a local farm.
Details of the Violent Assault
According to reports, the assailants, armed with machetes, launched a sudden and brutal attack on the farmers. During the assault, they used a machete to chop off the woman's hand.
The attack was not isolated to this one victim. Several other individuals who were also working on the farm sustained various degrees of injuries from the violent herdsmen, who remain unidentified.
Community in Fear, Victims Hospitalized
A resident of the Barki Abdullahi community, who identified himself as Esla, confirmed the distressing event. He expressed the community's collective condemnation of the attack and its devastating impact.
Esla confirmed that all the victims, including the woman who suffered the amputation, have been admitted to a nearby clinic where they are currently receiving urgent medical attention.
The resident lamented that a deep sense of fear has now gripped the community following the attack. He made a passionate appeal to the relevant government authorities, urging them to swiftly apprehend the culprits responsible for this heinous crime.
Furthermore, he pleaded for the government to deploy security operatives to the area to safeguard the lives and property of the residents, who now feel incredibly vulnerable.
