The Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Ojelabi, confirmed the incident on Thursday, May 28, 2026. He stated that the two operatives, identified only as Kehinde and Tobi Adedina, were traveling on a motorcycle when they were struck by a Lexus car in Oogi town. The driver fled the scene immediately after the accident, abandoning the vehicle.

According to Ojelabi, the police have recovered both the Lexus car and the motorcycle involved in the crash and have taken them into custody. An investigation into the accident has been launched, and authorities are tracking the driver.
