Incident at Owelu Church
On July 13, 2026, a tragic incident occurred at a church in Owelu, Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State, where a man allegedly killed his wife during a church service. The suspect then fled with two of their three children, leaving behind their infant child, who is only a few months old.
Police Investigation Launched
The Imo State Police Command has confirmed the incident and launched an investigation. According to the command's spokesperson, SP Henry Okoye, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Owerri North Division has visited the scene. Efforts are underway to apprehend the suspect and rescue the two abducted children.
