A violent confrontation between rival thug groups in Kano metropolis has resulted in tragic consequences, with one individual confirmed dead and two others sustaining injuries. Police Confirm Arrests and Recovery of Weapons Following Clash
The Kano State Police Command has officially confirmed the arrest of three suspects in connection with the violent clash that occurred on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. According to police spokesperson SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, the altercation took place at approximately 10:53 PM and was allegedly led by Usaini Noni from Kabara Quarters and Umar Tautau from Magashi Quarters.
The police statement detailed that the clash terrorized local residents and led to the death of one Adam Badamasi, also known as 'Choli'. Two other individuals, Ahmed Basiru and Akilu Usman, were injured during the violent exchange between the rival groups.
Swift Police Response and Restoration of Normalcy
Upon receiving reports of the disturbance, combined teams of police officers were immediately dispatched to the scene. Officers encountered a rowdy situation with members of various vigilante groups already present in the area.
The police quickly cordoned off the affected zone and proceeded to make three arrests:
- Bazallahi Umar, aged 20
- Abdullahi Umar, aged 20
- Abubakar Sani, aged 23
All three injured persons were promptly transported to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital in Kano for medical attention. Tragically, one of the victims was certified dead upon arrival at the healthcare facility.
