Katie Price has reportedly ended her eight-month marriage to Lee Andrews after discovering that his cryptocurrency account contained just £2.22, despite his claim that he had $50 million (£37 million) in digital assets. The 48-year-old television personality is said to have quietly consulted a leading London divorce lawyer as she considers formally ending the marriage.
Discovery of the Crypto Wallet
Price reportedly told Andrews via WhatsApp: “I have been played and you are not who you say you are. Why have you lied to me?” She is also said to have told a friend on Tuesday, September 1: “I have come to my senses — Lee has lied and lied and lied. I am sick of it. It is over.”
A source said the discovery of the cryptocurrency account was the final straw after a series of controversies surrounding Andrews, who is currently being held at Al Awir prison in the United Arab Emirates. “The marriage is done. She will never go to Dubai to see Lee again,” the source said.
What the Wallet Actually Contained
“It was, of course, an accumulation of many things but the final straw came after Lee had told Katie he had $50million (£37million) in a crypto wallet, and promised her some of the funds. He gave her the ‘recovery phrase’, the passkey, to get into his account, and on Monday, August 31, she had a financial expert access the wallet, and, to her shock, discovered it contained just $3, or £2.22.”
The source further claimed that Andrews never had the fortune he had presented to Price. “Lee never had $50million; he doesn’t have a bean. The most he ever had on any one day was in March for $14,490 (£10,720) which was sent out the very same day,” the source said.
“Obviously over the past few months Kate has seen all the damning evidence building up against him, and was always planning her exit once the white noise became unavoidable. But after seeing his accounts, as opposed to his AI mock-ups, she lost her s***. He has deeply embarrassed her and, more importantly, has scammed, hurt and cheated so many other women. Enough is enough.”
Marriage and Controversies
Andrews, 43, has continued to maintain his innocence despite multiple allegations against him. He is currently understood to be trying to raise money to pay a fine for his release from prison. Price and Andrews initially held a wedding ceremony in Dubai in January, although the ceremony was not legally binding. Their marriage was formally registered on February 17 at Abu Dhabi’s judicial department.
The relationship has been surrounded by controversy since it became public, with Andrews facing allegations from several former associates and partners. He has denied the allegations. Among the claims made against him are accusations that he misrepresented his wealth and professional background. He was also accused of using artificial intelligence-generated images to give the impression that he had connections with celebrities and high-profile figures.
Andrews had previously claimed to have an engineering PhD from Cambridge University, although the university reportedly said it had no record of him. He also claimed to have bought Chelsea FC and said he had worked with figures including Kim Kardashian and Elon Musk. Reports later alleged that AI-generated images had been used to support some of those claims.
June Disappearance and Prison
The controversy intensified after Andrews allegedly disappeared for several days in June, prompting Price to launch a missing-person appeal. He later claimed he had been kidnapped at gunpoint and taken to a secret location, but was subsequently found in prison. According to reports, Andrews told Price he had been arrested on suspicion of espionage, while the circumstances surrounding his detention were instead linked to outstanding fees on a car rental.
He has spent several weeks at Al Awir prison while facing three civil cases and has reportedly been calling Price regularly, telling her that he would soon be released. A source told The Sun that Price had grown tired of the repeated assurances.

He initially had an answer for everything, and wormed his way back into her affections. But Katie has been in regular contact with Lee’s family and, crucially, his exes.
