Police Nab Seven Suspects After Robbery in Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command has apprehended seven individuals believed to be members of a robbery gang following a residential attack in the state capital. The arrests came after an intelligence-led investigation into a robbery reported at Unwala Quarters in Katsina metropolis.

Incident Details and Recovered Items

According to a statement issued on Saturday by the command’s spokesperson, Abubakar Aliyu, the robbery occurred on 19 June when suspected criminals invaded a family home and made off with valuables. The stolen property included two motorcycles, seven mobile phones, and two power banks.

Police operatives launched an investigation that led to the arrest of seven suspects: Sulaiman Sabo (also known as Labule), Muhammad Aminu, Muhammad Yahaya, Muhammad Daddy, Aliyu Kabir, Musa Kabir, and Ahmad Usman. The suspects reportedly confessed during interrogation.

Recoveries and Ongoing Investigation

A search conducted after the arrests resulted in the recovery of five mobile phones believed to be stolen, two power banks, two cutlasses, a pinch bar, a flashlight, and a bunch of master keys. The police also identified four additional alleged accomplices—Dahiru Nuhu Tsoho, Ibrahim (known as Iro), Shafi'u Lawal, and Aminu C.—who are said to have been involved in disposing of the stolen goods. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend them.

The command stated that the suspects in custody will be charged in court once investigations are concluded. Security agencies in northern Nigeria continue to intensify efforts against violent crimes and property-related offences amid broader security challenges in the region.
