Kodak Black Arrested in Florida on Drug Trafficking Charges

American rapper Kodak Black has been arrested in Florida on allegations of drug trafficking. The 28-year-old hip-hop star was taken into custody on Wednesday and booked into the Orange County Corrections Department on charges of trafficking MDMA, according to reports.

Kodak, whose real name is Bill K. Kapri, appeared serious in his mugshot released by authorities. His attorney, Bradford Cohen, stated that the arrest was a "coordinated surrender" linked to a November 2025 case involving a vehicle search that Kodak was not present in at the time.

Cohen explained that an officer discovered a bag containing a bottle of prescription cough syrup that allegedly bore Kodak's fingerprint. "This is a case where the law is not sufficient to charge possession of the item," Cohen said. "Then instead of simple possession, they doubled down and filed it as a trafficking charge."

The lawyer emphasized his intention to contest the drug trafficking charge due to its "weak legal basis." He added, "We look forward to yet another fruitful resolution to another case that should have never been filed."

History of Legal Troubles

This arrest is not the first for the "No Flockin" rapper, who has a lengthy record of criminal charges, including armed robbery, false imprisonment, weapons possession, and sexual assault. In March 2020, he pleaded guilty to firearms possession and served time in federal prison, but President Donald Trump commuted his sentence in June of that year.

In January 2022, Kodak was arrested for trespassing in his hometown of Pompano Beach, Florida. Weeks later, he pleaded guilty to first-degree assault and battery and received an 18-month probation sentence.
