Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a suspected member of the Eiye Confraternity cult group and recovered a locally made single-barrel pistol in Mushin. The suspect, Segun Alani, aged 24, was taken into custody following a raid based on credible intelligence.
Arrest and Recovery
SP Abimbola Adebisi, spokesperson of the command, confirmed the arrest to newsmen. She stated that acting on credible information regarding cult-related activities at Ogunmokun Under-Bridge, Mushin, operatives mobilised a surveillance team to the area and apprehended the suspect.
A search of the bag in his possession led to the recovery of one locally made single-barrel pistol concealed inside it. The weapon was seized as evidence.
Investigation and Police Appeal
Adebisi added that the suspect is currently in Police custody and providing useful information to aid the investigation. She encouraged residents of the state to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the Lagos State Police Command through the emergency lines for prompt Police response.
