A Nigerian man has come forward with serious allegations against the controversial activist Harrison Gwamnishu, accusing him of refusing to hand over millions of naira he helped recover. This revelation comes amid Gwamnishu's recent legal troubles, including his arrest over allegations concerning missing ransom money.
Brother's Recovery Turns Into a Personal Ordeal
The complainant, Awuzie Frankline, narrated that the issue began when his brother sought Harrison Gwamnishu's help to recover a substantial debt running into millions of naira. According to Frankline, Gwamnishu successfully recovered the funds but then refused to release the money to his brother.
Initially skeptical of his brother's story, Frankline decided to contact the activist directly for confirmation. To his surprise, Harrison Gwamnishu admitted to holding onto the money. The activist reportedly explained that he had used the recovered funds to settle personal issues arising from a political campaign he was involved in.
Promises Made, Then Blocked
Frankline stated that he felt pity for Gwamnishu's situation and pleaded with him to repay the money gradually. The activist agreed to this arrangement and even provided a timeline for repayment. However, the agreement quickly fell apart.
Frankline discovered he had been blocked by Gwamnishu on both WhatsApp and Facebook. When he used an alternative phone number to confront the activist, the response was starkly different. Gwamnishu allegedly told him boldly that he could not pay the money, leading to a heated exchange.
"I used another number to reach him and asked why he blocked me and didn’t keep to our agreement. That was the day I saw his true colours," Frankline recounted in a Facebook post published on December 6, 2025.
Intervention by VeryDarkMan and Public Reaction
The dispute dragged on for over a year, causing significant hardship for Frankline's brother who was denied the use of his own funds. Frankline said the matter only saw progress after they involved another popular online commentator, VeryDarkMan (VDM). Following VDM's intervention, Harrison Gwamnishu reportedly began making piecemeal payments.
The public reaction to Frankline's post has been divided. Some social media users defended Gwamnishu, pointing to his past humanitarian efforts. User Blessing Amuchechukwu commented, "You can't bring him down okay?... you can't even do half of what he has been doing for humanity."
Others, however, expressed skepticism about the activist's methods. Roseline Ada Vincent noted, "I have read a lot of stories concerning that guy and he’s always on the negative side." Another user, Ladi Haruna, called for a deeper investigation into Gwamnishu's operations.
This incident adds another layer to the ongoing scrutiny of Harrison Gwamnishu, whose arrest and the surrounding allegations continue to spark debate online about accountability and the methods of social media activism in Nigeria.
