A yet-to-be-identified middle-aged woman was allegedly beheaded by a man at a hotel room in Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon, August 14, 2026, at Novex Hotel, where the suspect was said to have checked in with the woman.
Discovery of the Crime
Some sources said they heard sounds of a fight in the room where the suspect had lodged and quickly broke into the room, where they saw the woman in a pool of blood with a deep cut on her neck. The corpse had been evacuated from the hotel to an undisclosed hospital, while the suspect was said to have been arrested by the police.
Police Confirmation and Investigation
The spokesman of the Adamawa State Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, who confirmed the incident, said a suspect was arrested in connection with the alleged crime. He stated, “The Command has commenced full investigation into the incident. Further details will be communicated to members of the public as the investigation progresses.”
Nguroje also urged the public to remain calm and allow the police to conclude the investigation. “The Command urges members of the public to remain calm, avoid jungle justice, and allow the police to conclude investigation,” he added.
The police have not yet released the identities of the victim or the suspect, and the investigation is ongoing.
